Galveston, Texas on Holiday

Image
Galveston, Texas is a photographer's delight. Plenty of turn-of-the-century architecture, Queen Anne Victorian style homes, and other historic points of interest. With a little luck, one might get a good deal at the Treemont House , an exquisite four star hotel located in the historic Strand district. We managed such a deal during spring break, of all times, which seems counter intuitive for a beach town. Has to do with its location, as in, not on the beach. That's actually an asset during spring break. The ferry across the bay is good for ship watching. Good bird watching too. The Strand Historic District.   Particularly bad hurricanes are noted. The very impressive Bishop's Palace. The four star Tremont House provides excellent accommodations in the historic district.

The Trois Inn in Fredericksberg is a great spot to stage an elopement. The resort is Spanish adobe designed, including the use of historic Spanish doors and windows. Enchanted rock is visible close by, and the surrounding hill country makes for beautiful backdrops. Speaking of enchanting, Erin was beautiful and radiant in her three-quarter, flouncy wedding dress. It was a lovely day. More photos of this wedding at: Erin & Eric Elope
